TASTE OF SANTA MONICA CATCHES ON IN A BIG WAY
By Bibi Baker and David Wallen -

Full time music invited dancing but everyone was far too busy negotiating the lines at the booths, which
seem to have mushroomed as the day wore on.  Fabulous tastes were available from the best restaurants in Santa Monica, and no one was willing to miss out on a wing from Hooters, with voluptous Hooter girls on hand to raise spirits.  Not to mention fantastic seafood choices from the likes of Ocean Avenue Seafood, Chez Jay, Bubba Gump and many other of 40 fine Santa Monica eateries.

The Taste is a yearly event of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, and cannot be beat for a day in the ocean breezes and lovely food samples.  VIP attendees tasted some of California and France’s fine wines. The nonprofit for this year is The Wellness Community.

Chefs from The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California – Los Angeles set up their molecular ice cream lab, producing a tasty fast product in many flavors.  The winner of this year’s “Great Gourmet Giveaway” raffle will dine at 50 Santa Monica restaurants.
