Due to the high heat and humidity over the next few days, the City of West Hollywood is opening a Cooling Center for Seniors at the Senior Lounge at Plummer Park which is located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Prolonged exposure to the heat can make the weather dangerous as well as uncomfortable particularly for Seniors. It's important to take precautions to keep as cool as possible throughout the warm summer months.

            The Senior Lounge at Plummer Park Community Center has an air-conditioned space to help residents stay cool. The schedule for the Cooling Center in the Senior Lounge at Plummer Park is as follows:

·         On Tuesday, July 3, 2007 the Cooling Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; 

·         On Thursday, July 5, 2007 the Cooling Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.;

·         On Friday, July 6, 2007 the Cooling Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; 

·         On Saturday, July 7, 2007 the Cooling Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and

·         On Sunday, July 8, 2007 the Cooling Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Cooling Center is available for quiet activities. Seniors are encouraged to bring books or board games and see staff at Plummer Park to be directed to the Senior Lounge.
