She might be better known as “Suzy Edwards” on My Network TV’s hit series “Desire,” but Vivian Gray is doing more than just capturing audiences with her sizzling stage presence.

Gray has more recently helped unleash a crop of young multiethnic  entertainers that are quickly transforming the face of the industry.

Who? Try Selma Hayek, Jessica Alba and Benjamin Bratt, all of who have popularized a diversified Hollywood scene with their mixed ethnicities.

As FOX’s flagship show has built a dedicated and enthusiastic fan base over the last several months, Gray has garnered her own individual success.

“Desire,” whose cast embodies this latest Hollywood trend, digs deep into one family’s internal turmoil as the story centers on two brothers fleeing from the mafia who in turn become wrapped in a heated battle of passion, deceit and murder over the woman they both love.

The 65-episode show, which debuted Sept. 5 and plays the Monday through Friday schedule over the course of 13 weeks, has put Gray on the map as one of America’s newest stars.

At press appearances in New York City and Los Angeles, hordes of fans have come out to see and hear Gray.

Since the age of 11, Gray’s sensual look and audacious demeanor have grabbed people’s attention.

The daughter of a Scottish and Mexican mother, Gray owns dual citizenship in both the United States and Mexico.

Throughout her childhood, Gray traveled to different countries, learning Spanish and French all the while holding a strong British accent.

Under the guidance of the legendary actor Juan Ferrara, she earned sizeable roles in the Latin telenovela “Valeria y Maximiliano” and her own film “Sangre Joven.”

And with appearances in magazine spreads and other print work, Gray has become a household name in Mexico at this point.

But it wasn’t easy for Gray to break into the entertainment scene in the United States right away. 

“For a long time it seemed difficult finding work as an actress and model with mixed ethnicity,” Gray explained. “Now I think studios are finding that we appeal to a much broader audience. Several different ethnic groups can relate with us at the same time.”

Her career, however, has blossom since. After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and the Tisch School for the Arts at New York University, Gray celebrated prestigious awards, including Overall Grand Champion Actor of the World and Grand Champion Actor for Comedy in the World Championship of Performing Arts.

Now as Gray continues to shine in her first primetime television role, her career has already paved a path for more multiethnic talent to emerge in front of the cameras.
