Wednesday, February 15, 2006 - Anh Nguyen, Socal.com Writer

Dozen red roses. Check! Box of chocolates. Check! Copy of The Notebook. Check! Candles. Check! Now what do you do afterwards when the movie is over? That's the perfect moment to pop a CD in the stereo to set the mood.

Hallmark has paired up with multi-Platinum and Grammy nominated Warner Bros/Reprise/143 recording artist Michael Bublé for their 2006 Valentine’s Day CD, entitled “With Love, Michael Bublé.” The album was released last month and is available until the end of February, exclusively in Hallmark Gold Crown stores.

After being released only for a week, the album reached Gold status (500,000 copies sold). Hallmark is the only specialy retailer to achieve this feat of Gold and Platinum status for albums released through their retail outlets. Bublé is in good company with past Gold hitting artists Martina McBride, James Taylor and Michael McDonald.

Bublé hit the music industry around this time two years ago with his self-titled debut that achieved Platinum status. His follow up album “Its Time” had a similar effect. Introduced to the Great American Songbook classics by his grandfather, Bublé adored the tracks. With the help of multi-Grammy winning David Foster as his producer combined with the swagger you have seen from Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett & a voice to boot, Bublé does justice to the classics. He recently released a live DVD concert, “Caught in the Act” filmed at the famous Wiltern LG theatre in Los Angeles to a sold out crowd over the two nights. On Valentine’s Day, Bublé will perform his biggest hits in Las Vegas and on February 17th appearing on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

“With Love” features a special collection of eight songs hand picked by Bublé with the first-ever recordings of “I’ve Got a Crush on You,” and “These Foolish Things (Remind me of You)." Making up the other six tracks are selections heard in his first two Platinum releases and his favorite song, "That’s All.”

"All the songs are timeless, but in the Valentine season they feel even more profound, especially if you're a hopeless romantic like me," says Michael.

The album starts off with the classic “Fever,” and hits many crescendos of classic love songs with “You and I” to “My Funny Valentine”. Bublé harmonious vocals will make any woman melt. It’s the type of music you hear in the background in a movie between a couple, where they are sitting in a restaurant, dining and drinking. It gives you a visual of romance.

“With Love” is available in Hallmark Gold Crown Stores until the end of February and priced at $7.95 with the purchase of three greeting cards while supply last. Visit Hallmark.com or call 1-800-HALLMARK to find a Gold Crown store near you.
