Everyone Is Watching Uncle Sam
Ian S. Jones, Socal.com Writer

United States foreign policy has been a dominating force in global politics since the end of World War II. Often times average Americans find it difficult to grasp the consequences of their influence on the daily lives of those around the world from politics to popular culture. The importance of this influence cannot be ignored or overstated, especially when taking into consideration that the United States only represents 5% of the global population. If we are to remain the top power on the globe it is vital to reflect on the perspectives of the other 95% we aspire to hold sway over.

On April 9th PBS will explore the opinions of our global neighbors with their special Global Watch, which is to be hosted by international broadcast journalist Daljit Dhaliwal. Among the issues investigated in this special will be America’s global War on Terrorism, our current political races to choose who will replace President George Bush, and the US’s role in global warming and the environment.

Global Watch will air nationally on PBS on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 PM (check local listings).
