On Tuesday the Victoria's Secret crew flew into Los Angeles. Wednesday the models received the key to Hollywood. On Thursday, it was time for the big event itself: the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show with a performance by Justin Timberlake at the Kodak Theatre which airs on CBS, Tuesday, December 5th, 10:00 pm ET/PT .
Security was tight, the red carpet was pink and celebrities streamed along the corridor speaking with the reporters. Logan J, Socal.com's on camera host who happens to be 10 years old, and I were ready, hopeful that Justin Timberlake would soon come along for us to interview. Actually, everybody from CEO to celebrity was looking forward to Justin.
Karolina Kurkova, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks, Adriana Lima, Izabel Goulart and Gisele Bundchen came through first to pose in wonderful evening wear and speak with the press.
Logan met Sharen Turney, CEO and President of Victoria's Secret Group, who talked about the show overall and what it takes to be a model. Elizabeth Charles, Jennifer and Geetha Maddis, all from Victoria's Secret Marketing, stopped to say hello.
Adriana Lima spoke to Logan about how exciting it was to be in the City of Angels to do the fashion show. Selita Ebanks, who had become a special friend to Logan, explained that there was nothing to be nervous about in doing the show. It was all fun.
Ciara told Logan she always wanted to be a model and loved Victoria's Secret pajamas. Phillip Bloch and Logan discussed luck.
Stacey Keibler waved as she rushed by. Marcus Allen explained why he liked fashion shows. Nicole Richie swept past all of us while Paris Hilton sneaked around in back. It was a clever maneuver.
Eva La Rue of "CSI Miami" and Logan had a great conversation
about acting and make believe. Sara Ramirez from "Grey's Anatomy" told Logan about her favorite Victoria's Secret products. Rick Fox confessed that he had bought Victoria's Secret items for loved ones in the past and was hopeful about doing the same this holiday season.
In the end, Justin Timberlake didn't make it out onto the pink carpet but Logan J was philosophical and figured he was just too busy with the sound check. Logan J and I both agree that we had a lot of fun, anyway.
People in the spotlight on the Red/Pink Carpet must rarely, if
ever, find themselves interviewed by a ten year old girl, even when the girl is an exceptionally talented, professional young actor like Logan J. Everyone we encountered seemed delighted by the idea, took Logan’s questions seriously and had wonderful things to say. You can go to the top of this page to link to the video and see for yourself.
