Scrubs: What Your Doctor Went Thru
Anh Nguyen, Socal.com Writer

“Were going to tear the roof off the Cabana Club” exclaims Donald Fasion who plays Dr. Christopher Turk on the NBC hit comedy Scrubs. The host of Spike TV’s The Playbook had good reason. Scrubs was celebrating their 100th episode since their first airing on October 1st, 2001. Celebrating in pure Hollywood fashion... in the heart of Hollywood at the super swanky Cabana Club.

The comedy revolves around the crazy experience of a medical intern, John “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff) at the Scared Heart Hospital. The center is filled with numerous outlandish characters included J.D.'s college buddy (Faison), Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), and nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes). Rounding out the cast is Chief of Medicine Dr. Bob Kelso played by Ken Jenkins and the resident ball buster Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley.)

Scrubs has had many guest stars over its 5 year run… Michael J. Fox, Jason Bateman and Colin Farrell to name a few.

John C. McGinley stated, “I would love to have Elle McPherson guest star... She would play an ex-girlfriend where we would just make love for the 30 minutes, that would be the whole episode.”

The night was full of fun for everyone from the cast: Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, Christa Miller and Judy Reyes, including everyone from behind the scenes, producers and crew members. Actress and Singer Mandy Moore joined in the festivities raising a glass of champagne with the cast.

Golden Globe nominee, Zach Braff was rather introvert and he made a very brief appearance on the red carpet and dashed right into the club away from photographers. However, he came back out for the cast' group photo.

A brief description of the 100th episode airing January 24th 2006 at 9:00PM follows:

The 100th episode, “My Way Home,” is directed by Zach Braff and is a tribute to “The Wizard of Oz.”  J.D. (Zach Braff) is called in to work on his day off and every time he tries to go home, he is pulled into another dilemma. Turk (Donald Faison) searches for a heart donor to save a dying patient; Carla (Judy Reyes) is worried that she doesn't have the courage to become a parent. Meanwhile, Eliot (Sarah Chalke) doesn't think she has the brains to lead a question and answer session on a subject she knows little about. All the while the Janitor (Neil Flynn) is trying to make the hospital easier to navigate by painting color-coded lines, including a yellow line, which leads to the exit. John McGinley and Ken Jenkins also star.

Go out and purchase the first 2 available seasons on DVD and catch the show in what's rumored to be its final season everyTuesday 9:00PM on NBC. Congrats to Scrubs for hitting 100 episodes, a feat not often achieved in television.
