In early October, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show launched their national model search for the next runway angel to appear on the CBS fashion spectacular to air Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Open auditions were held in Miami, Chicago, NYC and Los Angeles to narrow the field down to a beautiful few from each location. Finalists will attend “Angel Boot Camp,” in NYC where they will face a series of challenges for the chance to prove to the world that they have what it takes. The "W" Los Angeles – Westwood hosted the open casting call that attracted hundreds of LA's finest, tallest, prettiest and most charismatic young ladies. They waited in the long line that wound around the W's manicured garden and patio for their turn to walk the walk before the judges: executive producer Ed Razek and casting savant John Pfeiffer. The whole process took hours but the audition walk took seconds. For 20 or so models, it was all worth it when the judge handed them pink wrist bands that sent them to the next level - the bathing-suit round. Everyone else was directed to proceed along the path, through the W Hotel lobby and out the front door to the street.Jessica Boyd and Kahlelah Goodine, two models from Los Angeles, were as enthusiastic about not making the cut as they had been before the audition began. To them, "no" means you are one step closer to a "yes!
