Recycling with Style
"Fashion is very powerful. It has a unique way to introduce new habits and ideas into our lives. We have to use its influence to promote consciousness". This is how Miriam Josi, designer of Mimi Vert jewelry, explains her decision to use recycling as the main theme of her new campaign.
(PRWEB) June 1, 2009 -- It is common practice today for many companies to use recycled materials or incorporate environmental sustainability into their business practices. However, Mimi Vert has decided to go a step further and implement the "green" idea directly into its image. Its new campaign shows women practicing recycling while look elegant and beautiful wearing the company's jewelry.
Mimi Vert 's new campaign: women looking beautiful and elegant while practicing recycling
"We believe we are the first jewelry line to adopt the idea. It's a new era and there is a growing awareness about the need to protect the environment. Mimi Vert not only wants to be part of it but also set an example, inviting others to follow. Let's not forget that fashion's primary role is to inspire. While nonprofit organizations solely dedicated to this cause are in the forefront, the fashion industry has an effective ability to influence consumers. People will get the message in a whole different way and hopefully adopt recycling as a part of their lifestyle".
Miriam, or "Mimi" among family and friends, is from Bern, Switzerland and lives most of the time between the US and her native country. In addition to her career as a jewelry designer, she is also an accomplished fashion model. Most recently, she appeared on the cover of the May 2009 issue of "Vanidades," the most read women magazine in the Spanish language.
Her line Mimi Vert was launched in 2006 targeting the "affordable luxury" market. Using a green eye as its trademark and identity, Mimi Vert is captivating the hearts of women of every age, reflecting both simplicity and sophistication. The collection is made in rhodium-plated silver and enamel with an easily recognized "iconic" design and organic lines.
According to the designer, Mimi Vert plans to expand into select retail stores in the US at the end of 2009. "We are establishing partnerships with retailers that really believe in Mimi Vert. It is more important to know where our product is than to be everywhere." Mimi Vert has also enhanced its online presence with the opening of an e-boutique in April. "The web is very significant because it allows you to interact directly with your consumers and fans" she ads.
The company considers as a part of its mission to promote along with its products awareness for the environment and its importance to present and future generations. "This is something that I owe to my family" Miriam says. "They taught me how to appreciate nature since I was a child. This is why I feel I have to tell the world".
